In the ultrasonic welding of plastic products, it is a very common problem that the joints of the upper and lower shells of the products are misaligned. Why does the product appear to be misaligned? There are design problems of the product itself, the structure of the ultrasonic mold, and the debugging of the ultrasonic machine.
However, in general, the product itself has a good positioning function is the most important thing. When the dislocation occurs, the method of modifying the ultrasonic mold to improve the dislocation can only be said to be "remedy". Therefore, in the design of the plastic product structure We must first consider these issues clearly.
Good positioning should implement such functions:
1. When a pressure is applied up and down, the joint surface of the product will not be deformed or misaligned.
2. When a lateral force is applied, the upper and lower plastic bonding surfaces will not deviate.
Usually the positioning is designed like this, straight mouth shape, convex-concave shape, double V groove shape, and the straight mouth is provided with a rib shape or positioning pin structure. In the actual production operation, if there is a product misalignment after ultrasonic welding, the following methods can be used to improve it.
1. Reduce the welding pressure. Because of the excessive pressure, the product itself is unbearable, deformed, and the interface will be misaligned.
2. Heighten the bottom mold so that it exceeds the joint surface by more than 2mm. By deepening the depth of the bottom mold fixture, the bottom mold can hold the product firmly.
3. Use ultrasonic conduction welding to reduce the energy of ultrasonic transmission to the product.
4. Use the advanced ultrasonic welding mode to release the ultrasonic wave before touching the product to reduce the misalignment.
5. Use the fine adjustment limit function to limit the welding depth of the ultrasonic handpiece.
6. Use high-power and high-amplitude ultrasonic equipment for welding, and complete the welding in the shortest possible time.
7. The misalignment of the ultrasonic upper and lower molds will also cause misalignment.
8. Modify plastic products and improve product positioning design; this is especially important. If the product has a good positioning design, it will save a lot of trouble in later use.
