Ultrasonic welding machine by ALTRASONIC TECHNOLOGY is perfect for welding, cutting and punching termoplastics, non-wovens and textiles. Whether for extremely small parts or very large applications. Ultrasonic Plastic Welding Machine can be easily customized to fit the exact specifications of the parts being welded. The parts are sandwiched between a fixed shaped nest (anvil) and a sonotrode (horn) connected to a transducer, and a 15~40 kHz frequency vibration is emitted. When welding plastics, the interface of the two parts is specially designed to concentrate the melting process. One of the materials usually has a spiked energy director which contacts the second plastic part. Ultrasonic energy melts the point contact between parts to form a connection. This process is a good automated alternative to glues, screws or snap designs.

Ultrasonic welding is the process by which two pieces of plastic are joined together through the use of high-frequency acoustic vibrations. For the process one half of the component is placed on a fixed anvil and the second half is placed on top. An extension, connected to the transducer on the welding machine, called a “horn” is then lowered down on top of the two components. Once the horn is in place a very rapid low-amplitude acoustic vibration is applied to the moulding in a small welding zone. This vibration causes the acoustic energy to be converted into heat energy and the two components are welded together in a short space of time, typically less than one second.
